New music asks Duluth to confront a 100-year-old lynching

This MPR News feature originally ran for a memorial concert that took place in March on the 100th day before the 100th anniversary of the horrible mob lynching of three black men in Duluth in 1920. With Monday's arrival of the actual anniversary -- and planned public events canceled due to the pandemic -- we offer an updated version of the story that adds a recent WPR interview with composer Jean 'Rudy' Perrault, who composed 'We Three Kings' to commemorate the men and their tragic deaths.
