Hometown: Worthington, Minn.

Composition: Sankey's Requiem

Why do you like to compose?

The piece was written for my great-parents for when they pass. Although they are still alive it was written because they know, and that they aren't afraid of death, in fact, they are ready for death whenever it comes. How the piece is written is how a funeral is. How people will miss the person and morn their passing, understand that their suffering has ended and they are in a better place, and that the love of the passed person will never end and that their legacy will always be remembered. While the original text is sung, in the background and eventually near the end. There are Anglicanism (which is how most funerals are done today in the western Christian traditions) words sung in Latin which are from the 1662 Book of Common Prayer which is also from a service called "The Order for the Burial of the Dead."
