Classical MPR's mass choral events known as Bring the Sing have harmonized around the state from Moorhead to Minneapolis, Duluth to Rochester, and points in between but had never graced the Minnesota State Fair until last summer, when the beloved men's vocal ensemble Cantus took to the stage to lead hundreds of fairgoers in song.
Cantus returns Friday (Aug. 30) to the Great Minnesota Get-Together for MPR Day at the fair! Join them from 2 to 3 p.m. with Classical MPR host Steve Staruch, again at Dan Patch Park near the Grandstand.
Cantus will lead the singalong, as well as perform several of its own pieces. Singalong selections will include songs from favorite musicals (The Sound of Music and Oklahoma!), traditional American songs, and a number of familiar pop tunes including hits by David Bowie, Joni Mitchell and John Lennon.
There's no need to read music. Just bring your voice, your family and friends, and prepare to sing your hearts out.
We can't wait to join you!
