Participants can have music mailed to them by March 19 (on the form below), pick it up at Whole Foods Co-op (Hillside location), or pick it up the morning of the event. For questions, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Registration is required. Sign up below. Same-day registration at the event is welcome.
The spirit behind Bring the Sing is to forge community and interpersonal ties through communal choral singing, connecting participants in ways not otherwise possible. Bring the Sing events have taken place across Minnesota and are open to everyone, regardless of musical abilities and backgrounds. The ability to read sheet music is not a requirement to participate in Bring the Sing.
Choral-singing and music-reading experience are not required. Voices of all abilities are welcome to this free community event, where co-onductors Bret Amundson and Sara Ludwig and special guests will lead everyone in these songs:
Felix Mendelssohn: Elijah: "Watching Over Israel, He Slumbers Not," with the Highland String Quartet
Charles H. Gabriel (arr. J. David Moore): "Will the Circle Be Unbroken?" with Blake Thomas, banjo; Vince Osborne, double-bass; Jeremy Craycraft, percussion
Eric Barnum (text by Edna St. Vincent Millay): "Afternoon on a Hill"
Carly Simon (arr. Craig Hella Johnson): 'Let the River Run," with Jeremy Craycraft, percussion
