How has your life changed since you performed in Minnesota Varsity? This past summer I made the biggest life change by moving to New York City to pursue my Master's degree in Contemporary Flute Performance at Manhattan School of Music. If you asked me even just two years ago if I'd ever live in New York I would probably say no way! Now I am so thrilled to be in one of the most musically rich environments and soaking up as many opportunities I can for the next several years.

Career goals? Over the last few years, I've learned about myself that I love to program concerts, organize and lead rehearsals, and connect musicians with audiences. This past year I had the opportunity to fill the role of Artistic Director of a contemporary chamber group called Renegade Ensemble. For a year I was responsible for overseeing the entirety of Renegade's programming, rehearsing, fundraising, and marketing. Since moving to NYC, I have been developing ideas for chamber ensembles and working towards starting my own group that aims to promote the music of POC, femme+, and LGBTQ+ composers.

How did Minnesota Varsity affect or influence you? I feel as though I've come full circle. When I arrived in NYC, I was connected with Katherine Hoover, the composer of the piece I performed at the Fitzgerald Theater as a Showcase Artist in 2011. I have plans to meet with her and discuss some of my career goals and I strongly feel that if I didn't have the Minnesota Varsity experience, I would have never been connected to her and her incredible music.
