My Name Is: Tesfa Wondemagenehu

Tesfa Wondemagegnehu has been sharing the transformative art of vocal music for more than a decade. He is a choral director, composer, educator and performer from Memphis, Tennessee. Wondemagegnehu has conducted, given masterclasses, workshops and clinics nationally and internationally. He served as the assistant artistic director of Minneapolis-based VocalEssence and the director of choral ministries at Westminster Presbyterian Church, also in Minneapolis, Minn. In 2017, Wondemagegnehu co-founded the Justice Choir movement, which endeavors to help bridge the gap of social injustice through music, dialogue, and community activism. Currently, he is the conductor of the Viking Chorus and the Chapel Choir at St. Olaf College and his compositions are performed by regional choirs and all-states throughout the country.
