My Name Is: Steven Banks

Steven Banks is a chamber musician, music educator, and composer. He teaches Saxophone and Jazz Studies at the Baldwin Wallace Conservatory of Music in Berea, Ohio and is the baritone saxophonist of the award-winning Kenari Quartet. The group has won top prizes at seven national and international competitions. Banks is also a strong advocate for diversity and inclusion in classical music. He gave a talk at the TEDxNorthwesternU conference in 2017 on how to create change in institutionalized prejudices against women and people of color. Most recently, Banks performed the New York premier of Johannes Maria Staud's Stromab with the wind section of the legendary Cleveland Orchestra.
