Do you love to sing? Classical MPR seeks voices of all abilities for Bring the Sing, a community singing event that is part choral workshop, part recording session. Whether you're a professional vocalist, a choir member, or just like to sing in the shower, you're invited to join the fun of choral singing! You'll work with a conductor, sing with members of your community and others around the state, and hear the result posted on classicalmpr.org.
Registration is now open for Bring the Sing's Duluth event, scheduled for 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, March 24, in Mitchell Auditorium at the College of St. Scholastica, 1200 Kenwood Ave., Duluth. Doors will open at 9:15 a.m. There will be an extended refreshment break so you can enjoy getting to know your singing neighbors. If you'd like to join conductors Bret Amundson and Sarah Ludwig in Duluth for this unique choral-singing experience, please sign up using the form below. Songs for the Duluth event are listed here. We'll provide printed copies, but don't worry if you don't read music! A core choir will lead the voice parts, and some of the music will be taught to you.
Bring the Sing participants have three options to receive the music:
By mail: Provide a mailing address and register by Wednesday, March 14.
Pre-event pickup: Music packets can be picked up starting Feb. 12 at both Whole Foods Co-op locations in Duluth (610 E. 4th St., and 4426 Grand Ave.) after signing a media release form and confirming prior registration.
Event pickup: Sheet music will be available at Mitchell Auditorium on the day of the event.
Because audio and video recording will take place during the event, you will be required to sign and turn in a media release form. Please bring the signed form with you when you arrive, or when you are picking up music from Whole Foods.
Are you an Honor Choir Student? Register using this Google form. Your high school choir director will have more information for you.
