Hazel Scott was a piano-playing child prodigy, activist and singer. She went to study at the Juilliard School of Music when she was 8 years old, went on to perform on Broadway and appear in five Hollywood films in the 1940s. Hazel Scott was also the first black person to have her own TV show.
