Why did you choose this piece?
The reason that I chose this piece was because it's completely different from other pieces that I've performed in the past (and what most listeners are used to). The way that the melody is expressed is very unique, and it can make the piece hard to understand, but I find the "strangeness" in the sounds very refreshing. Most of all, I wanted to share this piece with audiences who are unfamiliar with contemporary/atonal music, and to show them that it is beautiful in its own way.
