Following a year of performances across the state, Classical Minnesota Public Radio wrapped up its Pop Up Classical season with a performance by Brainerd High School's choral ensemble, Windfall at Westgate Mall in Brainerd.
Connecting artists with the neighborhoods they come from, Pop Up Classical stages live performances in unexpected places. Last month, MPR News (88.3-FM) and Classical MPR (90.7-FM) were off the air for listeners in the Brainerd Lakes area due to storm damage. This Pop Up Classical served as a thank you to the listeners in the Brainerd Lakes area for their patience, understanding and continued support to MPR.
The goal of Pop Up is simple: to take classical music out of the concert hall and make its beauties, benefits and joy accessible to everyone, everywhere. You can learn more about Pop Up Classical's travels across Minnesota - from Duluth to Rochester - by following #PopUpClassical on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
MPR extends its appreciation to the Westgate Mall, Rafferty's Pizza, Dairy Queen, CTC Communications and BlackRidge Bank for their support of this event.
