Lauren Bakke from Plymouth, Minn. was a Minnesota Varsity 2017 Featured Artist. She recently got in touch with Classical MPR's Christine Sweet to share her latest news.

Hometown: Plymouth, Minn.
Attends: University of Notre Dame, South Bend, Ind.
Though I'm not a music major at the University of Notre Dame, I am trying out for the 400 person marching band, the Band of the Fighting Irish. I plan to study engineering and am excited to see how I can use my creativity in new and different ways.
Minnesota Varsity was an incredible experience for me, and I'm so glad I had a chance to record in the MPR studio. Though I'm not pursuing music as a career, my time in orchestras like Minnesota Youth Symphonies, as well as opportunities like Minnesota Varsity, were extraordinary and I am so grateful for them.
