Poster Philip Noyed's 'Aurora Borealis' at MSP Airport Terminal 2
Philip Noyed's "Aurora Borealis" brings the colors of the Northern Lights to life inside Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport Terminal 2. Suspended opposite is Noyed's "L'Etoile du Nord," based on Minnesota's state motto. Inside the star is a crystal prism that projects tiny light rainbows on the floor beneath the star.

Moveable Feast: public art at MSP airport

Moveable Feast: More tourism tidbits from around the state

If you're flying somewhere for next week's MEA weekend, check out the new public art at MSP Airport. There are new sculptures and holographic displays in Terminal 2 — such as Philip Noyed's "Aurora Borealis" and "L'Etoile du Nord" — that comprise the largest art instillation at the facility in 15 years.

If you're in the Alexandria area and you enjoy an alcoholic beverage from time to time, you're in luck, as the community is home to the Carlos Creek Winery, Panther Distillery and Copper Trail Brewery, all close enough to be linked together on a self-guided "Skål" trail.
