Why do you love to perform?
I love to perform for what seems to be an endless amount of reasons. Performing music gives me the opportunity to express myself, expose an audience to an incredible story depicted in each piece, as well as providing me with immense opportunities to study and perform music from all over the world. Throughout my journey as a musical artist, I have truly learned the importance of music education and the performing arts. It not only gives me incredible joy and love to sing classical pieces, but it has led me to make many wonderful connections with other talented artists, peers and mentors. My goal as a vocal performer is to continue my music education throughout high school and in college in order to achieve my dream of performing in a variety of operas, theatres, and spreading the joy and magic of music to people from all over the globe. The passion I have for classical music and the performing arts will drive me forward to accomplish these dreams because with fierce determination, I truly believe anything is possible. I chose the piece Ave Maria for Minnesota Varsity because I am confident in performing it and feel a strong emotional connection to the compelling prayer. Not only did I enjoy studying this piece and exploring the Italian language, I valued that it offers a passionate and emotional experience for the listener.
