Why do you love to perform?
I love the concept that such beauty and emotion can be expressed purely through slight variations in pitch and inflection. The idea that I can use this concept to convey the worldview of someone who might have been dead for hundreds of years, to complete strangers, is perpetually mind-boggling. I am not overly emotionally free in everyday life, and music gives me a way to help express extremes of emotion in public, in a way that is comfortable. I have often heard stories of people whose lives have been changed through hearing a piece of music, and the possibility that I might be doing that for someone, even if I never find out, it still drives me to perform as much as possible.
