What are your goals as a musician/performer/group?
My goal for the future is that my violin will take me beyond high school study. I hope to apply to a conservatory and pursue a career in violin performance. I look forward to developing my skills with different teachers, and studying both orchestral and chamber music. My goal as a senior in high school, next year, is to get accepted to play with the Symphony Orchestra at the University of Minnesota as well as a chamber ensemble there, in accordance with the PSEO program. I also aim to compete in competitions in order to gain the invaluable experience. A long term goal of mine is to share my love of my instrument with as many as I can. Whether through teaching beginners, or through playing with my peers, it is so fulfilling to show a person the intricacies of the violin. For this reason, I anticipate the tour of Cuba with the Minnesota Youth Symphony Orchestra, and to learn from the talented youth musicians we will collaborate with. This opportunity, Minnesota Varsity, is a enjoyable step that will no doubt contribute to my goals.
