Last year at this time, we talked about some good last-minute local food gifts, including B.T. McElrath chocolate bars and Ames Farm honey.
This year, since we're broaching the subject a little earlier, we thought we'd suggest a few great food gifts that you can make!
Rachel notes that she's never actually made any of these things — she's just lucky enough to have generous and talented friends who have gifted these things! A friend made fruitcake last year, and while it was good, her family recipe was so time consuming and ambitious that it might not be worth going that route (at least not if you're more of a kitchen novice).
Of course there are all sorts of sweets, from toffee to almond-bark-covered pretzels. Other great food gift ideas are jars of homemade granola or infused vodka — cranberries or lemons tend to make particularly festive holiday liqueurs.
