Amidst the busyness of dense cities, it may be difficult to find a peaceful spot. This past summer, however, residents of London and Berlin were able to carve out oases of aquatic calm amidst the chaotic pace of city life.
In north London, a space next to a busy building site and major railway station was used for a naturally filtered swimming pond. In Berlin, a former railway-repair depot was converted into a community swimming pool and yoga center.
