Flying Forms is the Artist-in-Residence at the Baroque Room in Lowertown Saint Paul. This duo does historically informed performance on Baroque violin and harpsichord. They will be visiting schools Columbia Heights, Stillwater, Minneapolis, and Norwood Young America.
We believe that Class Notes can amplify the work that we already do in a really major way. We can reach a lot more students and have a greater impact than what we would be able to do on our own. We've done things like this in the past and seen students' lives change because they didn't know about Baroque music, or they didn't know about harpsichord, they didn't know that the harpsichordist is improvising most of the time, or that while it's classical music what we do is in many ways more related to jazz. And so it opens their eyes and opens doors in their lives. We feel really excited and lucky that we can be a part of this program.
