Moveable Feast: Hot New Foodie Neighborhoods

Moveable Feast: Hot New Foodie Neighborhoods

Minnesota Monthly's "Best Neighborhoods" issue is out with several great food-focused neighborhoods. And the area that seems to have undergone the biggest change in the past couple of years is South Nicollet Avenue (the blocks between 35th and 38th Street). Blackbird started this trend about five years ago... and then the floodgates opened.

Now there are two Kim Bartmann restaurants in the area: Pat's Tap and Kyatchi.

There's also the booming Hola Arepa (Latin American cuisine). It's a similar concept as the food truck except the brick and mortar version offers seating and cocktails — it's been absolutely packed.

Also there's the gourmet Five Watt Coffee where you can get lattes spiked with cardamom or bitters, as well as the brand-new Nighthawks, from Landon Schoenefeld of Haute Dish.
