I am currently am in my junior year at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minn. pursuing a degree in Theory/Composition as a Bachelor of Music scholar. I am looking forward to graduate school to receive a Masters degree in Composition within the near future and I would love to write for media, particularly for the silver screen, as this combines two of my loves; creative music and the movies! I am also a pianist and I am a member of the Concordia Orchestra as a cellist. I am president of the Concordia's Beat CD, which is a student run and produced organization and I am the Youth Choral Director at First United Methodist Church in Fargo, ND.
Concordia has provided me with so many amazing opportunities and had I not received the incredible scholarship that MPR provided towards my education, that would have not been an option for me in high school, so thank you so much to MPR for encouraging me to continue my dreams! Fun fact: all three of my other brothers, Brett, Brayden, and Brock, were Minnesota Varsity Featured Artists as well and the MPR Varsity team has become family to us!
I was honored to be Featured Artist in 2011 and had the opportunity to record a movement of Prokofiev's Piano Concerto No. 1 in C Major. The experience was life changing, especially during the production process. Considering that part of my future career will include working in a recording studio, it was a great way to learn hands on and get to see the magic behind the recorded finished product. Not to mention, the producers and organization teams that were behind the entire Minnesota Varsity experience were so professional and fun to work with and I would do it all over again in a heartbeat! Thank you MPR for providing young musicians with such an incredibly unique and fun opportunity!
