For our new weekly feature, "Moveable Feast," Rachel Hutton of Minnesota Monthly joins John Birge to talk about where to go, what to eat and other food topics in which Classical MPR listeners may be interested.

Today is a special day: Orchestra Hall is now open and the Minnesota Orchestra is back. So where can one go for a tasty meal before the concert?

John and Rachel start off by talking about the eateries located within sight of Orchestra Hall; namely, Vincent (known for its Vincent Burger), Brit's Pub (scotch eggs are a speciality) and Masa (upscale Mexican food).

Venturing just a bit further afield, one can find Dancing Ganesha, an Indian restaurant located near the University of St. Thomas Law School on Harmon Place. Further south on Nicollet Avenue — aka "Eat Street" — Rachel lists Rainbow Chinese (one of her favorite after-work takeaway places), Krungthep Thai Cuisine, and for those who prefer Mexican spices, Salsa la Salsa.

Note: John Birge will be at Orchestra Hall on Sunday, Feb. 9, at 3 p.m., doing a pre-concert Concert Conversation with Melanie DeMore ahead of VocalEssence's WITNESS: Stomp & Sing program.
