He's earned a reputation as one of the up-and-coming greats in the cello world - and on American Airlines too, where he needs to buy a separate seat for his valuable 1693 Matteo Gofriller Cello. The airlines simply refer to her as "Cello Bailey."

Zuill Bailey is one of those special people who put his heart and soul into recording some of the most profound music for his instrument.

And this passion and sincerity is obvious - taking his most recent recording of Bach Cello Suites to #1 on the Classical Billboard Charts.

This Sunday, he'll give a recital as part of the new collaborative series Schubert Club and Music in the Park in St. Anthony Park. He'll play with Minnesota pianist Lydia Artymiw and present the world premiere of "Pathways of Desire" by composer David Evan Thomas as well as Brahms, Schumann and his beloved Bach.

He also took a few moments out of his bust schedule to co-host a segment of Classical MPR air with Alison Young. Listen online.
