Minnesota Beethoven Festival: Minnesota Marine Art Museum

The Minnesota Beethoven Festival takes place in Winona, Minn., every year, attracting attendees from across the country. One of the venues offers a great space to listen to music, but it also has a lot to offer outside of the monthlong festival.

Classical MPR host Andrea Blain talked to Jon Swanson, the curator of collections and exhibitions at the Minnesota Marine Art Museum.

The museum has a new home right along the Mississippi River on the outskirts of Winona, where it features "great art inspired by water."

Swanson discussed the human relationship and artists' responses to water, as well as some of the pieces featured in the museum.
