Watch: Sinister classical duet plays out in unforgettable dance routine

As the So You Think You Can Dance tour makes its way across the United States this autumn, audiences are getting another chance to see one of the summer TV show's most mesmerizing routines in person. It has special appeal to classical music fans.

Created by Emmy-winning choreographer Travis Wall, the work presents a bow-wielding Magda Fialek in an epic struggle with partner Darius Hickman's personification of a stringed instrument. Philip Glass' collaboration with pop group Blondie, Glass Heart Concerto, provides the soundtrack.

"This routine has multiple layers to it," Wall explained when the work debuted on TV in August. "We're playing with the idea of a glass heart — how sensitive it is. It starts to be strong, but the minute you break it, how dangerous glass can be. It's just this complete back and forth battle between the two of them the entire time."

Fialek and Hickman, both finalists on the TV show, re-create the routine each night of the tour. It's even more captivating in person, based on their recent performance in the Minneapolis area.
