Every weekday at 10 a.m., the hosts at Classical MPR play a standout work based on the theme for the week. We call them Morning Glories.
So, an entire community of flute players walk into the Mall of America…
What happens next? This is no joke, it's a parade of concerts. A marathon of concerts. Eight hours to be exact, given by flutists of all ages and levels making music in a variety of styles to entertain Saturday shoppers. On Saturday, Oct. 28, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., the Upper Midwest Flute Association (UMFA) presents its third annual Marathon Flute Concert at the Mall of America Sears Court. The event helps raise money for UMFA's flute student scholarship program. Classical MPR's Alison Young hosts — for at least the first few hours…
In honor of the event, we are featuring pieces for flute on this week's Morning Glories.
