Moveable Feast: Dinner-tainment

Moveable Feast: Dinner-tainment

The Tony Awards are coming up this weekend, and the most-nominated show is "Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet." The show began life off-Broadway as an immersive theatrical and dinner experience in a circus tent.

Now there's a new crop of "dinner-tainment" places that combine food and beverage with entertainment. Up-Down in Uptown Minneapolis has arcade games and, out on the patio, a giant version of Jenga, which probably gets more difficult the more you drink. Can Can Wonderland in St. Paul, located in a former can factory, has an indoor, artist-designed mini-golf course and whimsical cocktails. Punch Bowl Social in St. Louis Park is a similar concept to Pinstripes in Edina, with bowling lanes plus bocce, darts, skeeball, and more.

The most dramatic concept is Betty Danger's Country Club in Northeast Minneapolis, from the owner of Psycho Suzi's. There's a full-size Ferris wheel that you can ride while enjoying your food and drink — how's that for a revolving patio?
