Minnesota Monthly's June cover story focuses on the best outdoor dining around the state. It's divided into several sections, based on the type of setting, and gives you a sense of the scene and what to order.
So for rooftop decks, there's everywhere from downtown Minneapolis staples such as Brit's — famous for its rooftop lawn bowling court — to Grandma's in Duluth's Canal Park. It also includes leafy patios such as those at W.A. Frost in St. Paul's Cathedral Hill and Sea Salt, the seafood eatery in the Minnehaha Park concessions building.
In the land of 10,000 lakes, we also love waterfront dining. We've featured everything from Lake Minnetonka hotspots Lord Fletcher's and 6Smith, to more mellow joints such as the Angry Trout in Grand Marais, which serves whitefish just pulled from Lake Superior along with a grand view of the water.
