Pipa virtuoso Gao Hong is celebrating 45 years as a professional musician (and 23 years as a Minnesotan) with the world-premiere of a multi-media show "Chinglish." It's a serious yet comic look at the clash of cultures Gao has experienced in Minnesota. She spoke with Steve Staruch about the project and performed a number of ancient and original works.
