Minnesota Orchestra: Mozart, Beethoven and Mendelssohn

On Friday, March 17, at 8 p.m., Classical MPR brings you the live broadcast of the Minnesota Orchestra as it presents a concert entitled "Mozart and Beethoven." Conductor Perry So, who launched his career as a Dudamel Conducting Fellow with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, leads Mozart's exquisite Symphony No. 36 and Beethoven's energetic Second.

Filling out the concert is Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto, and it features soloist Simone Porter, described by the Los Angeles Times as "on the cusp of a major career." Those of you who listen to Performance Today may already be very well aware of that; Porter was Performance Today's young artist-in-residence in October 2015.

Join host Elena See for the live broadcast of the Minnesota Orchestra's "Mozart and Beethoven" (Mendelssohn, too!) concert on Friday, March 17, starting at 8 p.m.
