Moveable Feast: Spring Forward

Moveable Feast: Spring Forward

You're losing an hour this weekend, so get that time back by letting a restaurant do the cooking for you. This month's Minnesota Monthly contains the full list, but we'll share a few spots where foodies go for takeout.

If you like fried chicken, Revival is the gold standard, and they just started doing takeout. They have a new location in St. Paul, but they're still very crowded and you have to place orders in person, so it's best avoid peak hours. I'm not yet brave enough to try the "Poultrygeist" version made with frighteningly hot ghost peppers!

Ngon Vietnamese Bistro makes some of the best pho in town. They package the noodles and broth separately so they don't get soggy on the trip home.

Birchwood Cafe — a farm-to-table favorite — has a year's subscription of eight seasonally changing soup/bread takeout packages for $100. There are eight dinners you don't have to plan!

For pizza, Punch Neapolitan is the local name in gourmet pies. You can ask them to par cook your pizzas and finish them in your oven at home to get them as close to 'in-restaurant' quality. Also, they have a deal for a half-glass of tap beer for $1.50 while you wait for your order.
