Moveable Feast: Classic Dining

Moveable Feast: Classic Dining

Jax in Northeast, around since 1910, has been in the Kozlak family for three generations! It's been a classic celebratory spot for decades, plus you can catch your own dinner from the trout pond out back. Gluek's opened in 1934 as a way for Gluek's Brewing to promote sales. The Band Box Diner in Minneapolis opened in 1939, as did Mickey's Diner in St. Paul — which has been open 24 hours a day sever since!

Around the state, Hubble House in Mantorville, an old river town hotel, has been around since 1854! It's a great place to take your grandmother to celebrate her birthday. Pickwick in Duluth, next to Fitger's, has been around since 1914, with a beautiful, old wooden bar. Up near Grand Marais, Naniboujou Lodge opened in the 1920s and is known for its dining room with a ceiling painted in graphic rainbow of Native American designs.
