There are lots of new local foodie gifts and stocking stuffers this year, and Minnesota Monthly has picked out a few of the sweetest.
North Mallow makes homemade marshmallows and offers classic vanilla along with chocolate chip, caramel, and mocha. For chocolate lovers, there's a new store in Minneapolis called K'ul Chocolate, by the former owner of the New French Bakery, and they create superfood bars that pair dark chocolate with nuts and dried fruit.
For you DIY-ers, there are a few new cookbooks available. Beatrice Ojakangas, longtime Scandinavian baker from Duluth has a new cookbook, Homemade, with goodies such as almond cardamom scones. Or the Twin Cities' Chowgirls caterers have a new cookbook featuring their party foods, including bacon-pecan tartlets.
Finally, for carnivores, Edina's Grass Fed Cattle Co. has a new "cow-pool" app for ordering beef shares — just do a gift card on that one!
