During the week of July 25, 2016, the popular television game show Jeopardy! featured a question about Pipedreams. Contestant Pranjal Vachaspati of Shaker Heights, Ohio, answered the question — a Daily Double — correctly.
"It was fun to think that perhaps Pipedreams can now be considered officially 'mainstream,' in the general public consciousness," Pipedreams host Michael Barone says, adding with a smile, "as it should be, one would hope, after 34 years on the air!"
Vachaspati, who is currently a graduate student at the University of Illinois, won six games, collecting more than $137,000 on the TV quiz show … and Pipedreams played a little part of that.
