Allen Hightower's Nordic farewell

Allen Hightower reflects on his experience with Luther College's Nordic Choir

Allen Hightower has conducted the Nordic Choir at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, for the past six years. Soon, Dr. Hightower will begin a ew position at the University of North Texas.

On Saturday, April 9, at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church in Mahtomedi, Minn., Hightower will conduct his final off-campus concert; he has a couple more concerts at Luther College before he returns to Texas, his native state.

Dr. Hightower recently spoke with Julie Amacher and Tesfa Wondemagegnehu to reflect on his experience leading Luther College's Nordic Choir. He has been particularly impressed by what he calls the students' "radically open approach to accepting each other. I've been transformed by that."
