Meet Dr. Michael Kim, new director of the University of Minnesota School of Music

Interview with Dr. Michael Kim

Dr. Michael Kim is an established pianist as well as a music professor with some interesting insight on how young musicians can create their own paths.

Now the new director of the University of Minnesota School of Music, Dr. Kim sat down with Julie Amacher for a conversation and to listen to some of his own recordings.

Dr. Kim talks about the 21st-century musician, and how in some ways, we've come full circle in terms of the skills and knowledge the modern musician needs to be successful. He also offers students advice on how to select a college.
