Moveable Feast: Easter? Eggs!

Moveable Feast: Easter? Eggs!

Who makes the best egg dishes in the metro? Eggs Benedict is a classic, but also fussy to make at home ... so why not order it at a restaurant?

One unusual twist is at Harriet Brasserie, served on a corn blini with a crab cake. I also love the Eggs Benedict at the Red Stag Supperclub.

Favorite quiches are at Turtle Bread Company and Patisserie 46. Try eggs en cocotte at Grand Café: eggs poached in truffle cream, served in a little ramekin with bits of ham and puff pastry on the top that float in the liquid like crispy edible pillows. Very rich but delicious.

And who says eggs are only for breakfast? There's a dish at Piccolo that pairs scrambled eggs with tender pickled pigs feet — it sounds funky, but it's a terrific combination and it has become such a signature that it will probably never come off the menu.
