Why do you love to perform?

Musicians have this innate drive to be a part of something beautiful and to share it with others. Performing provides a unique opportunity to share a great work of art with the audience at a high level, and to indulge in the joy of getting lost in the music. A further satisfaction comes from being able to showcase the hard work we've done in preparing a piece of music for others to enjoy, and being able to make it entirely our own interpretation. Quartet performing in particular is enjoyable because it combines the aspects of solo playing with performing as a team, a characteristic of orchestral playing. Additionally, performing for and with others can create connections and contacts that can be useful as you continue your music career. Besides, it's very exciting and a lot of fun!
