Where Are They Now? spotlights Minnesota Varsity Featured and Showcase Artists from 2011 to 2015.
Guitarist Henry Johnston from St. Paul, Minn. was a Minnesota Varsity 2011 Showcase Artist. He recently got in touch with Classical MPR's Christine Sweet to share his latest news.

I was one of the Showcase Artists in the inaugural Minnesota Varsity competition. I am now living in Paris, studying classical guitar at Aulnay-sous-Bois Conservatory. I plan to pursue a bachelor's degree in guitar performance.
One of my favorite Minnesota Varsity moments was getting to go into the Maud Moon Weyerhaeuser Studio and record a piece and an interview, along with the final performance at the Fitzgerald Theater. It was a great opportunity to be inspired by like-minded, young, passionate musicians and was a great testament to the quality of young musicianship that can be found in the Twin Cities and all across Minnesota.
