Guitarist Chase Bernard from Bloomington, Minn., was a Minnesota Varsity 2015 Featured Artist. He recently got in touch with Classical MPR's Christine Sweet to share his recent news.

My best memory of Minnesota Varsity was sitting in the control room of the recording studio and hearing myself play guitar with such high quality recording equipment for the first time. When Minnesota Varsity recorded my performance of John Dowland's Fantasia it really made me realize how good I can sound when recorded with high quality equipment. Ever since, I have really put an emphasis on recording myself as a way of improving my guitar playing. I did not realize how effective listening to yourself can be. I would love to teach music and/or guitar at a university one day, as well as play a few gigs here and there.
