Flicks in Five: Star Trek

'A Wagon Train to the Stars'.

This was what a former LA police officer turned Hollywood writer named Gene Roddenberry had in mind when he created the world we've all come to know as 'Star Trek'.

In its recent incarnations as a J. J. Abrams-directed series of films, composer Michael Giacchino (who also composed scores for 'Up' and 'The Incredibles') cleverly interweaves Jerry Goldsmith's iconic melodies from the original television series, paying tribute to the 50 years of the Star Trek franchise.

Today on Flicks in Five, we'll hear the end credits from Giachhino's 2009 score to 'Star Trek'.
