Green means GO! The Electrician is a Pianist

Jim Zieba

It's one of the first thing a kid learns: Green mean go, Red means stop. Jim Zieba knows all about the reds and greens — and yellows, too. Zieba is an electrician with the city of St Paul, Minn.; his job is to make sure all those traffic lights turn smoothly from stop to go and back again.

Jim is also a fine pianist, and he stopped by the studio to chat about his work and about the pieces of classical music he most enjoys.

Traditional: I Bersaglieri (arr: Montovani)

Toselli: Serenade

Traditional: The Twilight Song sung the Robert Shaw Chorale led by Robert Shaw

Lincke: Pavlova Gavotte

Leroy Anderson: Piano Concerto performed by pianist Stewart Goodyear with the Cincinnati Pops conducted by Erich Kunzel. Telarc 80112

Next week: Sara Lien Edelman is a public relations specialist. Close to her heart are classic Hollywood films and their soundtracks.
