Morning Glories: King's College Choir

The Choir of King's College, Cambridge, is one of the world's famous choirs, with a unique heritage and a tradition of fine music-making. They're perhaps best known for the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols. That service, beginning with a single treble voice singing "Once in Royal David's City," is for many people a beloved part of the Christmas season. But as choral fans know, the musical range of "King's" extends far beyond carols.

On Monday, March 23, the Choir will make an appearance in St. Paul, Minn., as part of Classical MPR's Choral Series. This week on Morning Glories, we'll look forward to their arrival with five pieces that reach from the Renaissance to the 20th century.
