The Manchurian Candidate: it's the story of a Cold War soldier, brainwashed by Communists into becoming a political assassin. It was made into a classic movie thriller in 1962, starring Frank Sinatra.
Now it's an opera, which gets its world premiere this week by the Minnesota Opera.
To give you a sneak preview — with no spoilers! — we invited Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Kevin Puts, Artistic Director Dale Johnson, and Music Director Michael Christie to talk about the production, along with cast members Angela Mortellaro and Matthew Worth to sing a gorgeous duet.
