Thursday on Classical MPR, you'll hear the Vienna Philharmonic ring in the New Year with a performance of Viennese waltzes.

On this week's Learning to Listen, get a taste of the waltz, and hear some of the best from the Strauss family.

And this is a lovely demonstration of the drama and beauty of a ballroom full of dancers. You'll notice the long introduction to the waltz they're dancing to (Artist's Life, by Johann Strauss, Jr.) — this introduction allows the dancers to enter the stage and get ready to waltz:
