Since Minnesota Varsity, my idea of what I would do in college has changed. I am working towards a double degree with a BBA in Marketing at the Business School, and a BA in Music Performance at the Music School. Minnesota Varsity helped inspire my passion for music and my decision to do music in college. As a result, I will be traveling to China this spring with the UW—Madison Percussion Ensemble for two weeks to play music and indulge ourselves in the culture. I was also able to get an internship in marketing this past summer in Minneapolis, which taught me a lot about some of the many facets of the marketing world. Looking back on Minnesota Varsity, my favorite experience was definitely getting to do a professional recording and then hearing myself live on the radio. I even had my physics teacher at the time play it in our class because he heard it on his drive to school! Overall, it was a very rewarding experience that I would recommend to any young musicians who are interested.
