Learning to Listen: Flute Greats with Julia Bogorad-Kogan
Julia Bogorad-Kogan
Julia Bogorad-Kogan is the principal flutist of the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra.
Rich Ryan

Every day, flutist Julia Bogorad-Kogan spends time listening to recordings of her favorite flute players.

On today's Learning to Listen, she'll share some of those recordings.

Marcel Moyse, Jean-Pierre Rampal, Thomas Nyfenger and Julius Baker are four of the most famous and influential flutists of the 20th century, and Julia knew each one of them personally.

Julia has been the principal flutist of the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra since she was 22 years old. You'll learn about the important French Flute School today, and hear Julia play music from that historical time.
