Meet the Minnesota Varsity Showcase Round artists! These five instrumental and vocal artists will perform on stage at the Fitzgerald Theater on April 27th, and two composition artists will debut their compositions at the same live event, which will be broadcast live across Classical Minnesota Public Radio's radio network at 5 p.m.

The 2014 Minnesota Varsity Showcase will include performances by the five Showcase Artists and works by the two Showcase Composers. During the event, audience members and radio listeners (via web) will have the chance to participate in the "Encore Vote," with the winner performing the encore at the concert. Graduate students Can Canbolat, violin; Rosalind Leavell, cello; and Francesca Tortorello, piano — all graduates of the University of Minnesota School of Music — will perform the premieres of the Showcase Composers' pieces.
