David Docter is first and foremost a teacher. He spent 29 years at Normandale Community College as both a musicologist and choral director. But one of his proudest accomplishments was authoring the study guides for the "Minnesota Music Listening Contest." His playlist is filled with music that is both timeless an contemporary.

Mike Giacchino: "Married Life" from the movie UP. Walt Disney 1372702

Dvorak: String Quartet No. 14 "American" with the Cavani Quartet. Azica 71203

Tchaikovsky: Lensky's Aria from Eugene Onegin with Nicolai Gedda. Warner Classics 0724356744554

Golijov: Passion According to St Mark (Porque?). Hansler Classics 08.404

JS Bach: Motet: Singet dem Herrn (movement 1) with Arsys led by Pierre Cao. Ambroisie 9917

Next week: Kevin Ramach is the President of the Minnesota Opera. Trained as a theater technical director he loves to go to see and hear the opera. His playlist is filled with the arias, new and old, that have layers of dramatic meaning.
