What composer are you? Find your personality type match

Composers' personalities can be as fascinating as their music, and one popular way to categorize personalities is the system invented by Katharine Cook Briggs and her daughter Isabel Briggs Myers in 1962.

In the Myers-Briggs system, based on types developed by Carl Jung, personalities are grouped into 16 different types, with each type split differently along four different axes: extroversion/introversion (E/I), sensing/intuition (S/N), thinking/feeling (T/F), and judging/perception (J/P).

There are many tests that are based on Carl Jung's and Isabel Briggs Myers's theories of personality type; here's one that's free.

Of course, we don't know the actual personality types of most composers in the repertoire — but it's fun to speculate! Take a look at our chart and see what composer we imagine might line up with your personality type.
